Connie
Conlee joined the faculty of the Department of Communication in 1983 from
a teaching position at the University of Alabama. She received her Ph.D.
in communication from University of Oklahoma in 1981 with areas of
specialization in Organizational Communication, Small Group Communication,
and Health Communication. Professor Conlee has been teaching graduate and
upper division courses in these core areas. She has authored or coauthored
over 50 papers and articles in those areas.
Most recently her research has focused on the
relationship between physicians and patients. In addition, she has done
software development in the area of computer-based training and in small
group analysis.
In 1996, she was appointed Executive Director of the
Western State Communication Association, for a five-year term. She has
served as Associate Editor for the Western Journal of Communication and
Communication Report and as a reviewer for another four journals in the
field of Communication.
She
shares her life with her family, partner Tim, and daughters Kathleen and Allison,
and grandchildren, Jonathan, Ryan, Deven, and Beth.
