Special thanks to Bill Purves and Garret Hardin. Were it not for them, I'd be an attorney.

Ph.D. University of California, Irvine 1974 - Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
Thanks Dick (MacMillen), friend and mentor.

Current Interests - Physiological , Behavioral, and Conservation Ecology.

I've retired to fish, play with the grandkids, and hang out in the library. I count my blessings every day that I stumbled upon this career. A spring spent on the CSUF London Semester was a highlight. An eclectic collection of colleagues from literature, dance, and political science plus terrific students eagerly becoming citizens of the world. Everyone should do it.
RECENT COURSES
Biology 10 and Biology 10 Honors. Introductory Biology
Biological Science 1A. Principles of Biology.
Zoology 132. Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy.
Zoology 152. Animal Behavior
Physiology/Anatomy 151. Comparative Animal Physiology
Natural Science 110. Practicum in Medicine ;
An internship in medicine coordinated by Dr. Juan J. Touya M.D.Ph.D.

And graduate classes from Physiological Ecology to Conservation Issues in the Sierra Nevada
I'm involved in the Fresno Art Museum, The Fresno Metropolitan Museum, The Chaffee Zoological Gardens, and the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust. On campus I served as Associate Dean for friend and mentor Kin Ping Wong, in the Honors College, and on Radiation Safety, Controlled Substances, and Institutional Animal Care and Use committees. I also manage the Howard Kubo Award for Outstanding Acievement in Biomedical Science. Personal interests include arresting the decay ("restoring" is too kind a word) of old Porsches and home brewing.

Where are they now?
(Former students -please contact me. You are a branch on a huge phylogentic tree that has, as its roots, the distinquished professors George Bartholomew at UCLA and Richard MacMillen at UC Irvine. Their phylogeny (which includes you) is posted on the web to honor them. I'll send you the web site. You'll be impressed. Help me out here. Email additional details where I've lost track. And send pictures please.)
