The Walk
This site was begun just for fun. It celebrates a tradition of taking a walk after lunch that started back in 1958. I really must do an update to celebrate the 50th anniversary this year!
I joined The Walk in 1969 as a new faculty member. At that time a dozen or more faculty would gather around one of the tables at a campus eatery. Following lunch we would march around campus, always following the same route. When I got my first digital camera around 1999, I knew it was time to memorialize this campus tradition with its own web site.
We soon learned that the web crawlers had discovered this site, and future faculty members were looking at it to see what Fresno State was like from a more lighthearted viewpoint! Soon afterwards, the University declared The Walk as a "Top Dog" site.
Now that the new Library has seriously modified the geography of The Walk, I am going to have to do an update.
