The personnel policy should include:

 

-           Job description for the executive director

 

-           Fringe benefits (health, pension plan, maternity leave).

 

-           Number of sick days and holidays allowed each employee.

 

-           Penalties for unexcused absences or tardiness.

 

-           Definitions of unacceptable, unethical, or unprofessional behavior.

 

-           A supervisory chain of command (who's in charge when the director is not available).

 

-           Reimbursement for travel and other expenses.

 

-           A dress code.

 

-           Performance review procedures and criteria for the executive director.
