CLASS PRESENTATION
PARTICIPATORY ACTION RESEARCH PROJECT

Each student group must present an outline of their project and their results to class members. It is expected that the presentation shall be made using Powerpoint.  It is also expected that each student group will meet with their community agency to discuss the results. This meeting can take place outside the classroom and you may simply reuse your Powerpoint presentation. You can opt to invite agency representatives to the classroom to see the presentation in lieu of a formal meeting. However, you must set up some type of method in which representatives can give you feedback on your project.

1. The issue or problem addressed.
 
2. The purpose of the research
 
3. The scope of the problem.
 
4. The primary research question.
 
5. Theoretical assumptions related to the project.
 
6. Brief description of previous efforts to address this problem and the effectiveness of these efforts.
 
7. Research approach and the justification for using the approach.
 
8. Role of the student researchers.
 
9. Role of participants.
 
10. Research methods utilized.
 
11. Human subjects protections.>
 
12. Major findings.
 
13. Recommendations>
 
14. Critical analysis of your work - both the research itself and your interactions with participants. (This analysis need not be shared with participants).

 

This assignment is worth 15% of your final grade!
