Skycalc

Skycalc is a most useful astronomical almanac calculator by Prof. John Thorstensen, my former Ph.D. thesis advisor. Please don't e-mail Prof. Thorstensen: if you have questions or problems with this software, e-mail me.

Click here to download a compiled copy of skycalc.exe, which should be ready to run on a PC running either Windows or MS-DOS.

Here is the c code for the program, skycalc. It was written in plain C so it can run on most anything.

Here are instructions for another way to get skycalc, from the National Optical
Astronomy Observatory's archive. Included is how to compile and link it, on a computer running the UNIX operating system.
For a quick guide to UNIX, see http://zimmer.csufresno.edu/~fringwal/essent.txt .

Here's the documentation for skycalc. This is a pdf file, which you can read with Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free program available here.
