Step
1. Each student will select a training topic
from a chapter in a textbook in one of your communication classes.
Step 2. Based on this text, Library, and Internet resources, your chief goals will be to learn as much about this topic as you can and to adapt this material for a 10-minute training lesson (with 12 or more PowerPoint slides) to educate the class. Search the internet for both content and graphic elements to adapt and enhance the visual impact of your presentation. You may confer with your professor.
Step 3. Learn how to use PowerPoint. You may work with others in getting familiar with the software and solving problems as they arise.
Step 3. Prepare a PowerPoint presentation of your training lesson [Step 1] as well as you can, utilizing as many features and capabilities of the program as you can without detracting from the effectiveness of your presentation. You will be graded by your demonstrating mastery in the use of each of the following:

selection of key content elements for your textbook chapter |
|
|
good organization structure for presentation (intro, body, conclusion), |
|
|
have a references slide at the end, |
|
|
clip art, |
|
|
imported photographs & graphics from Internet, |
|
|
hyperlinks to Internet URLs, |
|
|
transitions between slides, and |
|
|
custom animation (e.g., animated builds of bullet points, selected sounds). |
Step 4. Practice your presentation, including timing. Save the Timings....
Step 5. Completed PowerPoint file should be placed in your Lennon account with a link on your homepage for this class.
