dogjohn.jpg (36902 bytes)John A. Cagle's Homepage

California State University, Fresno

This page is an example of how to set up a home page on the Internet quickly and easily. Your opening paragraph usually would be a greeting of some kind and an introduction to your homepage--who you are, what the purpose of your page is, etc. Of course, you also must put your own JPEG or GIF pictures in place of the picture to the right.

You can download this homepage file to your computer and adapt it to your needs. Instructions are in the next paragraph. Basically, all the files connected to your homepage need to be in the same file directory or folder.

To use this template, you need to SAVE AS this file to your local computer.

bullet As you save the file, rename the file "index.html" and be sure to look at which folder you are putting the file in.
bullet Create a folder within your Documents folder and name the new folder 165YOURNAME--you will put all of your COMM 165 files in this new folder.
bullet Then open the file in Dreamweaver [or FrontPage] and edit the file, replacing this "content" and my pictures with your own.
bullet Finally, upload the index.htm file and all associated other files (e.g., JPEG, GIF, other htm files) to your public-html account on Lennon (for students).
bullet You will be able to open this homepage file using Internet Explorer or Netscape.

Good luck!
