The 15th Annual Double Reed Day
is designed for oboe and bassoon players of all ages and abilities (beginning to
advanced players). The public is
invited to attend the concert; $10 general, $5 senior & student.
Admission to individual sessions is $15. Fee for pre-registration for the entire Double Reed Day is
$40 and must be recieved by February 2, 2012. Registration after February 2, 2012 will be $50. Cancellations
after Feb. 2, 2012 are non-refundable.
Double Reed Ensemble music will be available at the registration table on
February 4.

Oboe Session I: How to practice LESS, enjoy it MORE, and make FASTER PROGRESS! – David Weiss Included in the discussion will be ideas about proper warm-ups, how to tackle difficult etudes and technical passages, how to use modern technology (video recorders, skype or facetime, tuners, iPad, iPod, etc) to good advantage, simple reed adjustments to improve pitch stability and endurance, and the importance of listening to recordings - incorporating some aspects of the Suzuki Method.
