#3-Persuasive Speech

I.                    Introduction

1.      I am going to play the video I have prepared.

2.       Every School, grades seven through twelve, should teach the full program of sex education.

3.      Sex Education programs that incorporate information on everything from abstinence to how to use and acquire contraception, allow teenagers to get accurate information regarding health and sexuality, provides them with the tools and information that they might need if they choose to forgo abstinence and become sexually active, and despite what of other programs may suggest, do not promote sexual activity, but actually help delay teenagers decisions to have sex.

4.      Everyday we see sex on television, in magazines, and on the radio and most of the time we learned what we know about sex from those places.

II.                 Body

1.      Comprehensive Sex Education programs allow teenagers to get accurate information regarding health and sexuality.

a.       In most schools teachers are not allowed to teach anything other than abstinence.

b.      Where else would you rather teenagers get the information that will probably be incorrect if acquired by some outside source?

2.      If teenagers were going to forgo abstinence, then it would be better for them to be prepared.

a.       There are so many different consequences out there to having sex, STDs, HIV/AIDS, pregnancy, etc.

b.      Teachers should be allowed to teach them how to acquire contraception or they just won’t use any at all putting them at greater risk.

3.      Abstinence only programs are wrong.

a.       Despite what these other programs suggest, comprehensive sex education programs do not promote sexual activity.

b.      These same programs actually are proven to delay sexual activity longer than abstinence only programs and give better odds that they will use protection.

III.               Conclusion

1.      Comprehensive sex education programs benefit not only the students that it is taught to, but also to those who have been going about it wrong this whole time.

2.      You always hear that it’s easier said than done
