Outside Play Evaluation
Due December 2nd (NO LATE PAPERS ACCEPTED)
Attend a play performance. This can be any play performance from beginning children performing to a professional Broadway performance. Play must be published work. (important to note if attending an elementary performance – this cannot be a “in school” written play) My personal preference is that you see the best characterization possible so I would recommend that you go to a higher than elementary school level performance.
Information needed to complete the assignment would include:
1. The author of the play, a brief background on the author (no more than one page)
(note sources where the information was obtained for citation page)
2. A summation of the story (1 to 2 paragraphs)
3. A summation of the key characters (1 to 2 paragraphs)
4. A character analysis (see description below) (one page)
5. Your reaction to the characterization (1 to 2 paragraphs)
6. Your reaction to the entire performance (1 to 2 paragraphs)
7. Proof of attendance (The playbill, program, or ticket stub attached to the evaluation.)
8. Citations used if any
NOTE: Play must have been attended during our semester – no “from memory” reports accepted.
