Reflection Paper Guidelines
Group Communication
Reflection Papers are due at the BEGINNING of class
I will NOT accept them late!!
1. Papers are to be a minimum of 2 pages
2. Papers must be typed, double spaced
3. Font cannot be larger than 12 pt
( I accept any of the "normal" fonts eg. Times New Roman, Palatia, Arial, Courier New)
4. Remember to include terms from your textbook regarding group process
Items to include:
How often did your group meet? Where? Were all of the members present?
Were the meetings productive? What was covered?
Did you practice your speeches as a group? Did you critique each other?
Did you each look at the group outline? Did your group edit the group outline?
Did you group look at the group reference page? Did your group edit the group reference page?
Were there any group conflicts? How did you resolve them? What were some of the group tensions? How would you handle the tensions and conflicts differently?
What did you see on the video that you were unaware of in your groups presentation? (If this class offered video recording of group presentations)
What did your group do well?
What could your group do to improve their presentation?
Include a self-analysis of your individual presentation. How could you do better? What did you do well?
Your opportunity to vent - this reflection paper is confidential. Please be totally honest, assign blame where you believe blame is due. However make sure to accept responsibility for your own limitations.
This is also your opportunity to sing praises. Did someone in your group go above and beyond? Tell me what they did to help your group succeed.
What NOT to include:
Do not give me a play-by-play of the presentation. I SAW it!!
Do not blame everyone in the group without admitting your weaknesses. (In other words NO WHINING!)
