Who? Anyone currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at California State University, Fresno
What? Every two weeks, a mathematical problem will be posted in the math lab EE167, and in PB 428. There will be a series of 6 different problems. If you answer the question correctly, you will receive a total of 5 points, if you are the first to answer the question correctly, you will receive a total of 10 points, 5 for answering correctly, and 5 for being the first to answer. Please note, all participants must submit their own work.
Why? The person who ends the competition with the most points wins the competition and a place in the US National Collegiate Mathematics Championship to be held in Providence, Rhode Island this summer.
When? Our first question will be posted Monday September 22, 2003, at 2 pm. You have 2 weeks to submit your answer to the drop box located in PB 428. You can also find a running total of points earned by individuals throughout the competition in PB 428 as well as online at http://zimmer.csufresno.edu/~mvoloshina/competition/.
