VOLUNTEERS NEEDED !

Math Field Day is a competition for middle and high school students (grades 6-12).

The purpose of this event is to provide capable students with the opportunity to meet and compete with students from other high schools and to receive recognition that they deserve. We believe that this event provides a unique learning situation for students, and that recognition of their participation will serve to stimulate their interest in mathematics and encourage continuation of their mathematical endeavors.

We need volunteers for the following tasks:

take participants to competition rooms

proctor and grade tests (most volunteers are needed for this task)

record scores

play games and show videos (games and videos will be provided)

deliver stuff within campus

take down folding chairs

possibly some other tasks

You will get:

breakfast and lunch
experience
appreciation from math faculty
chance to win a raffle prize

The event is approximately 8 AM - 5 PM, but if you are only available for a part of this period, that's fine. Please send an email to Dr. Maria Nogin (mnogin@csufresno.edu) if you are willing and able to help.

If you have siblings or friends who are now in middle or high school please tell them about this competition!
