Assignment: Calling a Cab

 

You are visiting a non-English speaking country as a tourist. A few hours before you check out of your hotel, you call your hotel's front desk to reserve a cab to go to the airport to fly back home. Later on, as you are waiting in line to check out, you see your cab arrive. But as you are checking out, another guest gets in your cab and drives off!

A. How is this a problem? (under what circumstances is it a problem? for whom is it a problem? etc.)

B. How is this a systems problem? (how will putting a better system in place solve the problem? what kind of system?)

C. How is this an information systems problem?

D. How is this an information technology problem? (how can creative uses of information technology solve this problem?)

Do not offer simplistic solutions, such as "Call Uber". Keep in mind that you are in a foreign country!
