Majoring in Computational Linguistics
Sam Trenholme has always had an interest in both language and computers. He started programming computers when he was six or seven years old, and started learning Spanish when he was 12.
In the mid-1990s, he left college to make his fortune in the blooming dot-com industry, where he worked for over half a decade. After the dot.com slump, he left industry to work on his Spanish while traveling through Mexico, finally returning to college last year.
He is pursuing a degree in Computational Linguistics in order to take advantage of both his interest in technology and his interest in languages. He has not yet decided yet whether to pursue a career as an English-language teacher in Mexico, or resume his career in the technology sector, after getting his degree.
