Browsing:

Take a few minutes to browse quickly through the Information Competency Model.  Learn how to use the hyperlinks to move from place to place.   Use the BACK button to retrace your steps.  Writing and Information Competency in Small Bytes was written to quickly introduce you to the basic information competencies.

Take a few minutes, go back to the Lab Bookmarks page and explore a bit.

Opening and Using Word 2000

Two tasks:

Try Brainstorming with word:  Generate lots of ideas you could use to improve your culture essay:   What could it be about?  Major events, points? Interesting facts? Questions?  SAVE your work on a disk.

Using the handwritten draft of your paper, create a new draft using Word and SAVE your work to a disk.

Open Access Labs

If you have not finished the assignments and activities in this first lab today, plan to go to an Open Access lab for the Summer Bridge today or tomorrow to continue your work.  The more you work with the computers, the better your competence and confidence will become.
