It is very important that you practice doing as many problems as you can. It is not enough to understand the concepts; you must be good at executing them or you will run out of time on exams. Therefore, I have prepared a list of warm-up or study problems for most sections. You do not have to turn the warm-up problems in, but you should do as many of them as you need to in order to feel comfortable with each concept.
Problems in the textbook are given below by chapter and problem number, to save space. For example, the fourteenth problem in Chapter 3 is called 3.14 in the text, but in this list it will simply be listed as 14 with 3 listed in the Chapter column. Please let me know if you have any questions about which problems are due.
You should follow the homework policy outlined in the syllabus for the problems to be turned in. In particular, please remember to follow all the format rules. Deadlines and problem lists given in gray are subject to change according to announcements made in class; those in black/blue/red are set. There may be homework due on the last day of class, which is a Wednesday!
All paper problems due on the same day should be stapled together in one packet. All problems due on different days should be kept separate. This will be enforced!
