Math 75B Home Page and Selected Course Materials
This is the home page for Math 75B, Spring 2005. Click here to go to the syllabus. All the policies and procedures from fall term still apply as of January 12, except as noted below. NOTE: If updates to the syllabus become necessary, I will announce any changes in class. These changes override any information contained in the above syllabus. You are responsible for obtaining the most up-to-date information.
Here you will also find downloadable course documents, such as handouts, worksheets, homework lists, exams, and exam solutions as they become available. Some of these documents are in ".pdf" format. In order to view and print them, you will need a pdf viewer such as Adobe Acrobat Reader. Most Fresno State computers have it. To get a free copy, click here. If you are having difficulty downloading the documents, it sometimes helps to save the files to disk and then open them in your .pdf reader rather than having the browser open them for you. Please let me know if you have any trouble reading them.

    • Identify a region bounded by given curves
    • Calculate the area between two curves (or enclosed by given curves) using integrals
You should also know how to
    • Use the disk method to calculate the volume of a solid of rotation, either

      • Formed by functions of y and rotated about a horizontal axis
    • Find the work done for the following types of problems:
      • Constant force (work = force x distance)
      • Spring problems (F(x) = kx)
      • Rope problems
